Flora Resident, Letter to City Council

City Council Members,

I recently heard that there is a proposal to develop the vacant lot off Johnson Ave. known as Sunny Acres.  As a resident of this City I am opposed to any such development in that area.  The property is enjoyed by citizens of this community everyday, from walking their dog, to bike riding, or just taking an after dinner stroll.  The views are breath taking, the surrounding is serene and peaceful, and its a great open space area for all to enjoy.

I also oppose this project at the Sunny Acres location because of all the nearby homes and the nearby pre-school.  The Johnson area probably has one of the highest owner occupied homes in the city.  Especially the Fixlini, Lizzie, and Flora area.  I also ponder the future of the pre-school if this project is allowed to move forward.

I understand and I am well aware of the need for homeless and mental services, but that difficult decision should be made with the least amount of impact on the citizens that take pride in their owner occupied homes and not allowed on one of the nicest properties in San Luis Obispo.
